You’ve probably heard it all before.
“Just pray about it.”
“God’s time is the best.”
“Anointing breaks the yoke!”

Sounds holy, right? But let’s be honest—how many times have you prayed yourself hoarse, visited every prophet in town, sowed seeds even when your M-PESA balance was gasping for air, and yet... nothing seems to move?

This article isn’t here to mock faith. It’s here to wake you up. Because sometimes, we confuse laziness with spirituality—and that’s not what God had in mind.

Let’s dive into the bitter truth. Don’t worry, I’ll serve it with a spoonful of humor—because if we’re going to have real talk, we might as well laugh a little.

The Business of Prayers – Is God a Paybill Number?

You’re at a big church on Sunday morning. The preacher is yelling, sweat flying like holy water, and you’re nodding with every “Amen!” Then he drops the bomb:

“If you want to unlock your next level, sow a seed of 5,000 shillings!”

And you think, This must be it. My breakthrough is in that envelope.

But guess what? God doesn’t take bribes. You can’t M-PESA your way to blessings. He’s not a corrupt officer chilling in heaven waiting for “kitu kidogo” before He approves your miracle.

James 2:17 says, “Faith without works is dead.” DEAD. Like a phone with no charge. Like ugali with no sukuma. Like a TikTok skit with no punchline.

So, Does God Answer Prayers?

Yes. But He’s not your errand boy.

God isn’t chilling in the clouds waiting for you to say “Jehovah Jireh” so He can deliver success via angelic DHL.

Prayer is powerful—but only when backed by intentional action. Think of prayer like a gym membership. Just signing up doesn’t make you fit. You have to show up. Sweat. Put in the reps.

Same with prayer. If you’re praying for a job but haven’t updated your CV since 2018… sis, what exactly is God blessing?

“Ni God” – The Gospel According to Hustlers

We love saying “Ni God manze” when things go well. You see someone living your dream—driving a Range Rover, sipping Java without checking prices—and when you ask how they did it?

“Ni God.”

But what they won’t tell you is about the 80% grind and 20% prayer that went into it.

Yes, it’s God—but it’s also sweat, sacrifice, sleepless nights, and risk-taking. God doesn’t bless laziness—He blesses diligence.

God is Not a Magician – He’s a Multiplier

God doesn’t do magic—He does multiplication. He takes what you already have and breathes life into it.

Let’s go biblical:

  • Moses had a staff.
  • David had a sling.
  • The widow had a jar of oil.
  • Jesus turned water into wine.

So I’ll ask you—what’s in your hand? What are you doing right now that God can bless?

Because if your plan is to scroll through TikTok and wait for “a word from the prophet”... my friend, that might just be a recipe for spiritual stagnation.

The Delusional Hustler’s Formula

Let’s break it down:

If your formula is:
100% Prayer + 0% Work = Success
Then you’re not being spiritual—you’re being unrealistic.

Try this instead:
100% Effort + 100% Prayer + 100% Consistency + 100% Faith = Miracles

Your hustle must match your hallelujah. You can’t want a Range Rover lifestyle with boda-boda discipline. Be real.

When Prayers Work Best

Prayers work best when you’ve already shown up.

  • You’ve sent out applications.
  • You’ve studied hard.
  • You’ve tried, failed, and tried again.
  • You’re investing time and energy.

Now, when you pray, it’s like pouring fuel on a fire you’ve already lit.

God opens doors you’ve already knocked on. He aligns you with people who are looking for someone just like you. He multiplies your hustle—not your excuses.

So, What Should You Do?

Here’s the raw formula:

  • Pray like your life depends on it.
  • Work like your landlord doesn’t care about your anointing.
  • Show up daily—for yourself, your goals, your purpose.
  • Stop waiting for a prophecy and start walking in your potential.
  • Be intentional. Be strategic. Be relentless.

Because heaven doesn't reward vibes. It rewards vision and effort.

Final Word – Faith That Moves Feet

So, does God really answer prayers?

Yes. Every single time.

But sometimes, the answer is:

  • “Move.”
  • “Work.”
  • “That’s not your lane.”
  • “You’re not ready yet.”

God is not looking for perfect people—He’s looking for people who are willing.

Willing to try. Willing to grow. Willing to rise. Willing to be used.

So yes, pray—but more importantly, show up.

And when the day comes that you’re living your dream, flying out, winning, smiling, and someone asks you how you made it…

You’ll smile and say:

“Ni God.”
